Marital Trust

This is a trust dedicated to the surviving spouse in A-B trust planning and is designed to attract the marital deduction. One common marital trust is the qualifiable terminable interest property trust, sometimes termed QTIP trust. This requires all income to be paid to the surviving spouse.
