Can be either an individual, trust company or bank designated to manage and administer a trust property (also known as a fiduciary). The term will generally include the original and additional successor trustees. The duty of the trustee is to act in the best interests of the trust and beneficiaries and accordance with the terms of the trust document. The trustee must act in a personal capacity unless permitted to delegate as laid out in the trust document.
